The Need: 38th Street in Indianapolis is a major east-west corridor, full of daily commerce and accompanying traffic (30,000 plus vehicles/day). Through extensive use, the roadway was in disrepair.
The Answer: A “Making the Old New Again” reconstruction project including resurfacing or replacement of asphalt and pavement, bridge deck rehabilitations, traffic signal upgrades and more.
VS Involvement: VS provided construction inspection services for this $6.4 million roadway and bridge reconstruction project. Tasks included all reporting, tracking of progress, daily inspection of work, material sampling and testing, and assurance of proper and safe maintenance of traffic during construction, as this major roadway was closed for some time.
