Tibbs & Banta

The Need: This 63-acre, inactive, sanitary landfill was set along a bend in the White River. Over time, the flow of the river caused erosion that compromised the landfill’s western border.

The Answer: Shoreline modifications were deemed necessary to eliminate any threat to public health, the environment and nearby wildlife.

VS Involvement: VS provided design and construction inspection services for restoration of the stream bank. The project included installation of rip-rap and geotextiles for erosion reduction and further erosion controls in the form of plantings. All installations were coordinated with the behavior of the stream ecosystem.
