In 2017, VS acquired H. Stewart Kline & Associates and with former HSK staff, established a new office in downtown Lafayette

VS Engineering (VS) has provided, from its inception, a diverse array of engineering services. Founder Bhagwan C. Patel (BC) has strong business acumen in his blood, and civil engineering became his chosen field. BC grew up in a successful entrepreneurial family in India, with strong family values. He brought that entrepreneurial spirit and those values with him when he attended college and ultimately settled in the USA.

BC excelled in his diverse engineering studies, and gained experience across all realms of civil engineering fields, from sanitary sewer and lift stations to preliminary engineering roadway reporting, to project inspection. When the time came to start his own firm, he espoused that cross-training principle, ensuring that his engineering staff had the ability to work on a variety of project types. This firm, VS Engineering, further embodied the family values BC stands behind, as evidenced by his naming standard: incorporating the initials of his two children, Vandana and Sanjay.

BC’s legacy continues to grow with son Sanjay at the helm – inspired by the heritage begun by his forefathers generations ago in a far-off land. From BC’s first contract to prepare plans and specifications for lift stations in Marengo, to complex transportation engineering projects and large-scale collaborative projects, VS has been building productive relationships with people and organizations state-wide. As a company “on the grow”, we look forward to broadening our horizons with the right staff, in the right locations…to better serve you.
