About Lafayette
The VS Lafayette Office is managed by Mike Peterson, P.E. Mike has over 30 years of professional engineering experience. He has been responsible for numerous structural and hydraulic designs of bridges and approach roadways as well as bridge rehabilitations, and small structures. Mike has served as the manager for many bridge projects, assisted with construction inspections, and performed bridge load ratings.
Formerly H. Stewart Kline & Associates, VS acquired the firm in 2017. A family business begun when H. Stewart Kline acquired an established bridge engineering firm in 1963, HSK gained a distinguished reputation over the years as it dedicated itself to transportation and civil engineering services for clients in Greater Lafayette, the surrounding region, and the State of Indiana.
VS’s continued commitment to quality, client-focused engineering services lives on in the experienced staff that are part the Lafayette Office today. Services provided by this office includes:

Community
The VS Lafayette Office is dedicated to the Greater Lafayette community. Most staff are long-time area residents and stakeholders with deep roots here. VS staff enjoy making Greater Lafayette their home and being part of this growing and vibrant community.
As an office, VS has supported the United Way of Greater Lafayette, Food Finders Food Bank, and the Salvation Army. Located in the shadow of Purdue University, the office has provided summer internships for several Purdue Civil Engineering students and looks forward to continuing these opportunities.
