Site Development Design
The Ivy Tech Frankfort Campus was conceived and constructed through combined effort of the City of Frankfort, Clinton County Commissioners, Clinton County Council and Ivy Tech Community College. The urban redevelopment project utilized a vacant newspaper building, which was renovated and expanded, as the backbone of the project. In addition to the building expansion, outdoor improvements consisting of new sidewalks, parking lots, internal circulation roadways and an outdoor gathering plaza were constructed.
VS partnered with Browning Day Mullins and Dierdorf to provide the following services:
- Floodway regulatory compliance for site and building improvements
- Utility Coordination for relocation of electric, gas, sanitary and communications facilities
- Site Grading for sidewalks, parking lots and internal roadways
- Hardscape design for internal roadways, sidewalks and parking lots
- Drainage design and guidance for multiple minimal impact design elements including pervious concrete pavements, bio-swales, rain gardens, pervious pavers and infiltration basins
- Drainage design for traditional grey infrastructure elements
- INDOT R/W permitting compliance
- Review of site infrastructure for ADA compliant design
- Traffic signal modernization
- Construction administration
- Utility Easement exhibits and legal descriptions
