The Montgomery County Commissioners selected VS as the Prime Consultant to provide preliminary engineering services for the rehabilitation of Bridge 126 carrying CR 275 West over Rattlesnake Creek.
The bridge is located 0.2 mile south of CR 400 South. VS was instrumental in securing Federal funding for the project. VS performed a field inspection and prepared a bridge inspection report to determine precise scope of work.
VS determined the three simple-span composite R.C. girder superstructure was deteriorated beyond repair. Structure type / economic analysis determined that the new superstructure should be continuous composite steel beam that does not overload existing piers to remain. The bridge deck was widened 9 inches to provide required clear roadway for this local rural road and pier caps were replaced. End bent caps were removed and replaced with semi-integral caps supported on existing piles.
