COUNTRY CLUB ROAD BRIDGE REMOVAL, TRAIL WORK, ROAD RECONSTRUCTION
Design Services
The Department of Public Works, City of Indianapolis, commissioned VS Engineering to provide design services to remove a deteriorated bridge over an abandoned railroad bed and drainage ditch. VS prepared design plans and specifications for the project. The existing bridge was removed and replaced with two small structures: one 14’ x 10’ for a pedestrian trail, and the second 12’ x 6’ for drainage with wingwalls. Also included was reconstruction of approximately 1,040 LFT of roadway, and installation of handrails for roadside safety. VS also coordinated with INDOT on timing changes to traffic signals at the US 136 & Country Club intersection to facilitate detour traffic. VS managed all aspects of the project development including layout of horizontal and vertical alignments, drainage design, maintenance of traffic, erosion control plans, Rule 5 and waterway permits, and development of the contract documents for project bidding.
