SR 32/NUCOR ROAD AREA SANITARY SEWER COLLECTION SYSTEM
Sewer & Lift Station Design
The Montgomery County Regional Sewer District retained VS to prepare final design and construction documents and construction administration for construction of approximately 29,800 linear feet of gravity sewer, low pressure sewer, force main, 15,500 linear feet of sewer lateral, and 2 lift stations near the intersection of Interstate 74 and SR 32 to the existing collection system on Nucor Rd. south of US 136.
The principal tasks performed for the project were:
- Review of previous alignments and relavent designs
- Evaluation of proposed lift stations along SR 32
- Hydraulic modeling of force mains, collection system, and discharge structures
- Design and development of construction plans and specifications

- Installation of a total of 29,800 linear feet of sewer main which is being installed via horizontal directional drill, jack and bore, and open cut, including:

- 14,100 feet of 6-inch force main
- 5,300 feet of 4-inch force main
- 5,100 feet of 3-inch low pressure sewer
- 680 feet of 2-inch low pressure sewer
- 180 feet of 15-inch gravity sewer
- 4,300 feet of 12-inch gravity sewer
- 140 feet of 8-inch gravity sewer
- Installation of a total of 15,500 linear feet of sewer lateral which is being installed via horizontal directional drill and open cut, including:

- 13,800 feet of 1.25-inch low pressure lateral
- 1,700 feet of 6-inch gravity sewer lateral
- Decommissioning of 52 existing septic systems and connection to the proposed collection system
- Trenchless crossing of Walnut Fork Creek
- Multiple trenchless crossings of SR 32
- Development of cost estimates for installation of the collection system
- Coordination and submittals to INDOT, Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM), Indiana Department of Natural Resources (IDNR), and Montgomery County Soil and Water Conservation to obtain sanitary sewer construction and erosion control permits
- Bidding assistance
- Land acquisition document preparation, appraising, and purchasing of easements and right-of-way
- Construction administration including submittal review, risk management, and utility conflict resolution
