I-69/106TH STREET FORCE MAIN CONVEYANCE TO CHEENEY CREEK WWTP

Planning and Design

The City of Fishers Department of Public Works, Water Quality Division retained VS to prepare final design and construction documents and inspection for approx. 15,200 LFT of 30-inch and 36-inch force main from I-69 and 106th Street to the Cheeney Creek Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP).

The principal tasks performed for the project were:

Review of previous alignments and relevent designs
Evaluation of proposed impacts to existing lift stations at Hague Road, Allisonville Road, and Smock Creek
Hydraulic modeling of force main, 4 interconnected lift stations and force mains, and 4 Inlet Building channels
Design and development of construction plans and specifications
- Installation of 15,200 LFT of 30-inch and 36-inch force main of which 2,500 LFT was installed via horizontal directional drill or jack and bore
- Interconnection of new force main with 3 existing force mains from 3 separate lift stations
- Upgrades to the Cheeney Creek WWTP Inlet Building, including new influent channels, gates, and odor control upgrades
- Road improvements to 106th Street between Eller Road and I-69, including road widening, storm sewer improvements, curb and gutter, and pavement markings
- Structural design of retaining walls along narrow rights-of-way and the Inlet Building channel upgrades
Development of cost estimates for installation of force main and road improvements for the recommended alignment
Coordination and submittals to INDOT, IDEM, IDNR, Army Corps of Engineers, and Hamilton County Soil and Water Conservation to obtain sanitary sewer construction, construction in a floodway, stream crossing, and erosion control permits
Bidding assistance
Land acquisition document preparation, appraising, and purchasing of easements and right-of-way
Construction inspection including submittal review, risk management, and utility conflict resolution
